Monarch had failed again. Two times in 250 miles, first the lockout failed not Internslshaft scored and not available separately.

Whats good for a replacement, ild like to stay away from rockshox, whats the fox dpx2 like? Or any other suggestions

Thanks

I put a Cane Creek DB Inline air shock on mine last year. Got it from TF Tuned so needed very little adjustment. It's been excellent so far with much better traction. Theres no lockout but the climb switch works well on long climbs. Cheaper than alternatives from Fox and Rockshox too.

Fox DPX2 very good, would highly recommend it, a LOT better than the OEM Rockshox on a T-130...

I've been sent some pictures of the damage to my shock, I'm going to push this with sram, whyte or my dealer as the bike shouldn't have gone through 2 shocks in such a short amount of use. It's only scored up one side, I think somthing is out of alignment and it's been side loading the shock

I questioned the same thing when that happened to mine. The frame alignment was fine. It was down to the tightness of the bushings being so that when the frame flexed a little, there was no tolerance in the shock bushings for the shock to move laterally so the insides of the shock took some abuse. When i fitted a new shock a went for plastic (nylon?) bushings and they gave the shock a little lateral wiggle room without feeling lose.

Going through two shocks Id get Whyte to check the frame alignment or the bushings as above, my buddy had his shock fail massively and the rear wheel ended up past the seattube to one side and the shock was parallel with the down tube not the top tube! Whyte and SRAM didn't wanna know...
