Don't understand how the Whyte or Cannondale would have kept you dry. Maybe one of these...?

Just stick some on your current bike?

Not that needing mudguards isn't a perfectly valid excuse for N+1 🙂

is this saga still going on? some people on here could have bought a bike, changed half the components, and then replaced it with something else entirely in this time

I can't speak for the cannondale but the whyte will do you fine and may be a bit more commuting oriented (shallow drop bars, lots of clearance etc). Just get it bought!

Not available till 20th....possibly 27th-ish.

Just get the Suffolk....or the Arkose 3/4.

....or maybe a Croix De Fer?

shhhh... it's clearly been stressful getting this far, he needs to stop worrying and get out there and enjoy the new toy (whichever one it actually is)

The synapse got 5 stars in the issue of cycling plus that just came out - the model is different but the frame is the same

It can, they are just not conventional mountings.
