Having issues with the clamp on my t130. The post is a oneup v2, they state a max torque of 5 nm, but even with carbon paste the post rotates and slips. I have to set to around 6 or 7nm to stop the post moving but this causes the post to bind and score the shaft, this is the second post that scores itself. I think the whyte clamp doesn't put an even pressure on the post like a conventional clamp.
Does anyone have any recommendations for posts that work OK with these clamps? I had a reverb previous what was fine apart from the normal oil and air mixing which happened abit to much which I why I replaced it. The new c1 reverb has the vent valve but is over 300 quid. Or a brand x xl version which is a fraction of rhe cost.
Thanks
My Vyron was fine.
You can completely remove the bolt and clamp plate from the frame. Thoroughly degrease and clean the seatpost. Clean the clamp mechanism, refit making sure the face of the plate sits evenly (it can be fitted wonky so it'll never clamp strong enough then), apply assembly paste to the face, loctite to the bolt thread, tighten to the torque setting and leave it overnight for the loctite to do its thing. Worked for me when my post was slipping.
My reverb was fine. Never needed any attention.
