Managed to get back to FOD today for my first ride on the Whyte.

Absolutely over the moon with it. Made the climbs a lot easier which in turn made me feel less tired on the downs.

I used a mix of eco ok tour modes on the ride and still had a range of over 20 miles in eco after 9 miles riding.

I found it strange to try and jump on such a heavy bike and feel like it's give me a good upper body workout.

Only downside is that I've ripped a hole in the rear tyre already so need a new one.

Can't complain about an ebike this time of year, always up FoD and it just gives me the range to do Shutcastle, Dowies, Mallards, Off Piste and normal in a day, it'll take a few rides you get used to how to use gears and power settings, but it'll come quick enough.

Jumps are a problem for me on an ebike, had a big off last week at Wind Hill as i over jumped one of the tabletops and landed well into flat, need to work on it more as i honestly can't judge distances as well as i can on the enduro.

How many miles is that little lot then.

I wasn't sure what gear to use and when.

Do I sit and spin an easier gear or mash it in a hard gear or what ?

Felt really odd when I reached the 15mph limit of the motor. At some points in felt like an anchor on the back.

Jumping needed some big upper body inputs which I can't do as well currently as I think I've got a torn rotator cuff but am too scared to go to the docs 🤣

Looks nice.
You need to clean that mud up though, a messy garden.

How does it compare to the Transition Sentinal, BfE Max, Orbea Rallon and Hightower? 😉

The motor works much better spinning rather than mashing the pedals. That's something that a Bosch rep made sure we all understood when I worked at Trek and is the same for all brands of motor

It works out as much mileage as the battery has to give, as always with FoD you can do as much, or as little as you want on any day and still not be further than 5 miles from your car at any time!

As for input, as others say, get your cadence sorted for all types of riding, this will mean a specific gear (or gears) and power setting, most of the time i live in eco or eco+, it's the gears that change to keep my cadence staying similar throughout the ride. You'll know how much feel you get from these settings, it's when you're tired, or injured that ebikes can help out even more, just up the assist and you're away again.

Haha it rides pretty similar to my previous S150 to be honest. Just a boat load heavier 🤣
