I'm considering a Whyte FS 29er and not having owned a Whyte Bike, wondered what they are like as a company - back up if your frame brakes, that sort of customer service stuff...?

Fantastic....I have an 829 purchased in March this year.
Very well made, good spec and pretty burly. Ive come off mine a few times and only scratched some of the lovely white paint off and even that left such a smooth finish, it doesnt need touching up.

Its my middle range bike also having a Yeti full sus and a C456.
All very different.

I think the hard tails and their designs are fantastic and great looking bikes, and with the right spec fly incredibly well.

I found them 5 star, had a cracked 19 Steel frame which they arranged pick up of (supplied a box via TNT first too) then replaced/built up my old parts onto new frame and got the bike back to me quickly about 7 working days all in start to finish. I dealt directly with ATB Sales only though, also thats where i bought it from originally not through dealers. I will deffo buy from them again based on the service .

Great, thanks. That's very positive

I've got a good feel about the bike and the company. The bike looks spot on design wise, and the parts spec is top notch. Everything considered, price is very good too

I like the lifetime bearing thing to accommodative 'all-season' (UK conditions) riding - something the US 29er makers have been slow on from the start

ATB Sales are teh awsumz. Superb service and back up, and really nice company to deal with as well. Very much recommended.

And the opposite side of the coin.

My mother always said if I didn't have anything good to say then say nothing. So I'll just point instead:-

It's worth searching through these forums, especially around the 146!!

Same here, great bikes and great back up. I have had a couple of their HT's and an E5 a few years ago. I broke the frame of the E5 (after maybe 3 years?) and had a new one delivered to the LBS within a couple of days. I think their frame warranties are only 5 years now, not "life"
Rode the T120 and 146 last year on a demo day, I really liked them but no money for another bike ATM. Apparently the new T129 is awesome.

Didn't someone get banned for suggesting their brand name was racist?

I'm looking at he M-109. Suspension on a 29er is over-rated 😉

When compared to the Tallboy, the Whyte seems the much better overall option - their quad link design sounds more efficient than VPP, CS's are much shorter, WB is kept in trim even with a slacker HA - and the WHOLE Whyte BIKE is the same as FRAME SC money
