Our cycling to work scheme is finally kicking off this month and I'm having a look at a new mountain bike. Really like the look of the Whyte 805 and I'm also considering boardman something or other although their 2015 bikes don't seem to be out yet.

Its a long time since I've bought a new mountain bike and no idea if this spec is any good or not.
Anything else I should consider at the £1000 mark?

I have a 2013 805 and I love it, it suits my seemingly odd body shape of short legs + long body.
It is however my only MTB so I can't compare it really to anything else.
So its pretty stretched out position then xora? That suits me fine really as I'm after more of an XC orientated bike.
Yes, I was finding on a lot of bikes I tested at shop I was hanging too far forward over the bars for my comfort.
