The Whyte 901 gets great reviews, but we are a 29er house now and so I have lots of tyres etc. The new 629 looks to have similar geometry to the 901 but with the bigger wheels and 120mm forks rather than 130mm. I can't find any reviews, has anyone tried one?
I think you may need to wait until the 2017 models are actually released 😉 , though obviously they have produced a less 'extreme' version (not as slack or as long) since 2013. Which was unchanged until last year when they updated the geo, obviously that not as slack or long as the 2017 update
Aah I see. I've seen a 2017 901, so thought all models were out!
OK, I know there whyte have demo bikes available, and they rushed the t-130's model as the 2016 sold out, but I'd not seen any thing else about the other models.
I'm personally split, I think they may have gone a little too far geo wise, the 2016 version looked more reasonable (though I'm looking for a winter hack)
2016 529 was very fast and fun, but I found the top tube just a little too long when doing technical downs at trail centers. Chopped it in for a cheaper Bizango, knocking it on to my nephew who's an inch or so taller, he keeps up with me on the downs so I'm saying it's a great bike but try it out first
