Hi.
I am thinking of getting a Whyte 29c. I have tried a medium and it is as big as I would want to go. I have not found a small so just wondering if anyone has tried the small and how they found the sizing.
I know it is best to try but thought I would ask.
Thanks for your help.
Whyte sizing is on the large side, their 'small' is what the vast majority of manufacturers would call a 'medium'.
I'm 5'11 and have a medium 29c, I'd normally be on a 19" / large frame in most other brands.
Thats what I heard, thanks.
What velo says. I'm on a medium too at 5'10" and it is only just a good fit. So I'd say you want to find a small. Lovely bike bttw 😀
Definitely get the small
I'm 5ft10 and have ridden both, I found the small was only a tiny bit small, but the medium is on the very long side for a medium.
Concur with the above.
I recently sold my Whyte 629 which was a small but still felt huge for my modest 5'5"
The guy who bought it said it's perfect and he is 5'10" ........

The effective top tube on the small (612mm) 29-c is nearly as long as some manufacturer's large frames.
I definitely think you need a medium. It would be a nice stretched out cockpit for long, fast XC riding.
Thanks. Hope to get one this week.
Does anyone on hear have the 209 carbon wheels and set them up tubeless? Just wondering if its ok to run stans sealant with carbon rims.
Cheers
