I suspect you are struggling to sell it for the same reason Cove struggle to sell bikes (hardly that popular are they) as they are overpriced and bloody plain or ugly. Warranty is an issue too!

Funny how the once mighty have fallen.

Still like Coves, but not interested in the above for a K.

I wonder which Chinese firm knocks these out? Quite fancy one direct.

Careful, they're a bit short in the top tube.

Aracer...I did pay new price. It broke, I got a new one

OP this isn't much of an advert is it ?

It's premium priced niche product and you are trying to sell it too expensively. If I where interested in such a frame I'd rather have a brand new one with warranty and I bet I could get 10% off RRP at least.

Does anyone else want to point out that he's asking too much for a niche frame with no warranty?

Go on, spoil yourselves, just one more.

First frame was a Lynskey which cracked across seat tube weld after less than 2 years

EVENTUALLY sent a replacement frame from Silverfish which was cracked in the same place when I recieved it! (different frame no)

Then sent a new Lynskey frame which has lasted 2 years before now cracking in the exact same place

I think for what may have been a stealth 'buy my bike' post in the main forum this hasn't quite gone how the OP would have liked.

I'd cut my losses on here and get it on ebay, tbh - there might be someone on there who want an overpriced niche frame with no warranty.

Also worth pointing out that its not a niche frame that thr attention whores and niche mongers would want as its too common place a manufacturer. I.e. it aint by a man in a shed with a beard n tattoos, therefore its just overpriced try hard wanabe tat.

Maybe worth selling as scrap as reclaim titanium value is good at the moment or just sell it for what some poor sod will buy it for. Hows about some black jack chews and a used felt tip pen as an opening offer? If pusjed I may go as far as my plaster from knee thats still got some yellow/greeny sticky scab on it and a copy of the beano

£1200

You're having a laugh. £1400, and I am cutting my own throat.

..,plus it hasn't got a warranty. Surprised no-one has mentioned that.

I don't think it comes with a headset.

....but if it did, I wonder if it also comes with the crown race.

How about a crown race? Does it come with one of those?

(Doh! beaten to it by Jamie's ninja edit(s))

Speaking of which, I see Jenson Button's old frame is up for sale again.

Selling my brand new Cover Hummer 650bj and getting no interest what so ever, even with over a third off new price!

Is it cos it's a bit niche or just it's an expensive item and someone will come along soon?

Frustrating as I need the funds to complete my new build

Its not brand new. Its second hand. No warranty. Pretty niche. Quite expensive to start with. I'd expect close to that off if buying actually new from a proper shop for last years model.

OP, if I understand this situation you got this as a warranty replacement, so its was free to you. So just sell it and move on.

Are you new here? I think you'll find that the correct procedure is to repeatedly post it up, ad bloody nauseam, at exactly the same price, so that its a daily fixture on the classifieds page, with zero interest from anyone,

To be fair, this is an approach I find pretty succesful, I had my 224 frame up for sale on pinkbike for about 6 months then sold it for exactly what I wanted.

jambalaya - Member

OP, if I understand this situation you got this as a warranty replacement, so its was free to you.

Only if the original bike was free

Only if the original bike was free

it was a replacement for a 2 year old frame. If it was for sale at 2 year old frame prices it would have gone by now. The OP's trying to 'make a profit' from a warranty replacement.

You are correct Jambalya. I got it 'free'. You can have it for free too!!!!!!!!!!!

And it's not exactly last years model! It's just come out and until there is a 651 deep throat model there wont be many changes

If you get the value of what you originally paid, less depreciation for however long you rode it for until it broke, then that's fine. Asking for any more is trying to profit out of their warranty. Though I don't hold it against you for trying, but well, good luck with that.

Chances are a warranty replacement is a repaired frame not fresh off the production line as far as the buyer is concerned, and on top they get no warranty, so it's going to be fairly low value to them.

Hi OP,just in case no one else has pointed this out,you are in a market place,so check out the "opposition".If I wanted a Ti 29er I would buy a new Titus Fireline £700.If 650B it would be a Kingdom Bike Vendetta 2 £999.Basically you are asking too much. You will have to drop your asking price,or build it up & enjoy it.Good luck either way.
Cheers
Jeff

The OP's trying to 'make a profit' from a warranty replacement.

And what's wrong with that? It's not new new, but it's never been ridden or built up, it's still worth more than a properly 2nd hand frame.

(Still asking too much for it though)

And what's wrong with that?

Nothing in itself but the OP's expectation of how much profit was in there is at odds with the people who use the STW classifieds.

If he wanted to sell he'd reduce the price further - he's not 'losing' money over what he'd have got for the 2 year old frame.

If it was a steel frame I think this would a different story entirely. But titanium frames are:

1. Much more expensive
2. Seem to be rather prone to premature failure
