Why Why Why is it that I really want a fatbike. Moonlander would be great, but why?
It probably* will be crap at everything I ride, but still it looks like fun. And it's not as if I'm a bloody fad magnet!
anyone? anyone?.....
(*justification to self for not having one)
me to dunno why just look mental 😀
On One coming soon rumoured around £999
I've been trying to talk myself out of half fatting my unit for nearly a year.....FAIL.Just ordered a Larry/Enabler/Largr Marge 😀
You've already answered the question, because they look fun 🙂 is that not why we ride bikes
Aaaaaargh! Me too!
Yeah ill soon have something fat between my legs 😉
yeah, but there's looking fun and being fun.
Actually I'm trying not to make any comparison to fat birds now...
Oh God no - why 999? That means I can get one on ride to work 🙁

You may be surprised. When I got mine I expected to be limited to flat snow conditions, but it just goes anywhere. Think tractor 🙂
You'll also be pleasantly surprised at the levels of grip on fast descents - I'm now descending faster than I used to, and my 29ers are gathering dust.
Some chappy was rocketing up Glentress the other day when I was there, and rocketing down it too on one. Looked pretty nuts but I can't help but think those tyres must be horrible to rotate up to speed.
So really what we need is a 25lb fatbike?
like shaggys old (i presume since he has the new on-one proto) sand man ?
On-One fatty
Because they are ace... and just a shed load of fun. Take it on romantic holidays to the sand dunes...
We have got our fat stuff on, big fat larry, nate, black floyd, and moondanders, mukluks, and black ops pug
linkety link link
I find it impossible to ride mine without it bringing a big smile to my face.
They're just so much fun.
The only downside for me is if i stop somewhere on it. Then it gets on my tit's having to answer the same questions every five minutes.
If we do a mid ride pubstop now I just claim it belongs to someone else and i know nothing about it. 😳
I was going to get a 29er, but keep looking at the Mukluk. I need to win the lottery so I can buy both.
I just got back from Ashton Court, did a Bikefest lap 33 mins on the Pugsley and 29 mins on the On One SS.............and the Pugsley was much more fun..
just found this from MM 2006, no wonder i've got the FBike itch
(not just the tyres were fat then) 😳

still resisting the urge to scratch my itch
Restistance is futile.
Check the weather forecast...

These things stick to the trail like sh1t to a blanket.
May have to give Charlie a bell to see if he's got any coming in? Shame he's just been banned from here otherwise I'm sure he'd let us know. 🙄

Nice, very nice 8)
hes got 10 coming in start of november i believe, larrys next week
Tollah.
I hear they don't fit in the Maverick fork as the knobs are a bit wider.
Ive got a feeling im gonna like having that on the front of me bike
Ah but I have plans 🙂
What. Your actualy going to manup and fit a rigid fork. 😉
Everyone seems to be Fattening up for xmas...
....i'll just get me coat. 😉
your garden looks a right mess stu, how many bins do you need ?
The bins are needed for all the empty beer bottles.
Tollah
Tim at sideways has nates arriving this week
Nates will go in a SC32 wont they?
( but not a Duc )
Mine's going on the back.
Or...well..in the cupboard until I get the back end fixed 😡
stuey - MemberNates will go in a SC32 wont they?
I think the side knobs will catch the upper legs.
Hullo fatfans, we do indeed have Nate, Larrys and bigfatlarry's arriving this week. Not cheap though, the shipping is frankly ridiculous. I'll be getting more of what's needed soon though.
Fat rules!
blimey tim you edited that pretty sharpish 🙂
hello 😉
or was it steve ? 😀
bigfat mukluk born today, a few modifications and we are in business, Salsa should be ashamed providing the bike with those shoddy brake levers
I'm a bit tipsuy , someone did a quick edit there methinks!
I preferred the BFC name. 😆
Mukluks levers are rubbaish o sure.
Silver Deores and Dura Ace thumbies fitted, seat raised an inch or two, crud guards and lights fitted 🙂
Lets see some pictures then. 😀
a few on twitter of someone building wheels, should have some after tomorrows commute, but it pretty much looks like yours Stu 😉
oh yeah, we swapped the 12 to the back of the cassette and limited the derailleur to 8, no chain rub now 🙂
Wow an inch or two on the post! Your legs are clearly spoiling us Ambassador!
SSstu - I've just measured my sc32s - they've got 103.5mm at the crown, so if I stick to 'baby fat' rims it should work(?)
Q: Will a big '42' ring kill my morale on tarmac?

There's decent clearance on my Larry on a 50mm rim.
Just measured up and they're 99mm on an 80mm rim and 95mm on a 65mm rim.
There's decent clearance on my Larry on a 50mm rim.
The side knobs don't stick out much on the Larry though.
4mm each side! - wibble -

Happy days
I know stu, just trying to help and offer a comparison - 9mm clearance BTW.
Tyres landed. A Nate on a Large Marge is 95mm, bags of room in an SC32. Want measurements for anything else?
I've got BFL's, Larry's and a Rolling Daryll if you need any combination of that lot measuring.
