Why Why Why is it that I really want a fatbike. Moonlander would be great, but why?

It probably* will be crap at everything I ride, but still it looks like fun. And it's not as if I'm a bloody fad magnet!

anyone? anyone?.....

(*justification to self for not having one)

You may be surprised. When I got mine I expected to be limited to flat snow conditions, but it just goes anywhere. Think tractor 🙂

You'll also be pleasantly surprised at the levels of grip on fast descents - I'm now descending faster than I used to, and my 29ers are gathering dust.

Some chappy was rocketing up Glentress the other day when I was there, and rocketing down it too on one. Looked pretty nuts but I can't help but think those tyres must be horrible to rotate up to speed.

Because they are ace... and just a shed load of fun. Take it on romantic holidays to the sand dunes...

We have got our fat stuff on, big fat larry, nate, black floyd, and moondanders, mukluks, and black ops pug

not sure about the 'collander as light' thing but he seems to have got the fat tyre look off to a 't'.

I find it impossible to ride mine without it bringing a big smile to my face.

They're just so much fun.
The only downside for me is if i stop somewhere on it. Then it gets on my tit's having to answer the same questions every five minutes.
If we do a mid ride pubstop now I just claim it belongs to someone else and i know nothing about it. 😳

I was going to get a 29er, but keep looking at the Mukluk. I need to win the lottery so I can buy both.

Hullo fatfans, we do indeed have Nate, Larrys and bigfatlarry's arriving this week. Not cheap though, the shipping is frankly ridiculous. I'll be getting more of what's needed soon though.
Fat rules!

SSstu - I've just measured my sc32s - they've got 103.5mm at the crown, so if I stick to 'baby fat' rims it should work(?)

I think the side knobs will catch the upper legs.

There's decent clearance on my Larry on a 50mm rim.

Just measured up and they're 99mm on an 80mm rim and 95mm on a 65mm rim.

There's decent clearance on my Larry on a 50mm rim.

The side knobs don't stick out much on the Larry though.

Tyres landed. A Nate on a Large Marge is 95mm, bags of room in an SC32. Want measurements for anything else?
I've got BFL's, Larry's and a Rolling Daryll if you need any combination of that lot measuring.
