Encouraged by the excellent advice inthis thread I thought I would ask the experts.

Was practicing drop -offs last week when I managed to fall off the bike in mid air and land on my right man boob, arm out. I had to take five but got back on a little sore. Later in the ride I had the 'ol flashing lights in the eyes but that was on a big climb...

Now, a week later it REALLY hurts to sneeze or take a deep deep breath and it hurts to touch about 40mm above the nipple. Is it the bruise coming out? Should I MTFU.

OMG is it teh BAD AIDS?

Broken rib +1

Nothing to be done about it apart from plenty of analgesia and MTFU

Mastitis? Could be onto something. Tune in to an episode of The Archers and they'll sort you out

Broken rib (s) - don't bother seeing a doctor as there's nowt they can do.

just make sure you expel air in your lungs every so often or you'll get a chest infection.

Carry a towel with you and use it to brace your ribs when a sneeze comes on.

6 weeks heal time and you'll be right again.

good advice, sir. Im going to Cwmcarn Monday so with a bit of luck it is just bruising and I can MTFU and have a bit of fun :). Never been before and I dont get let out much so im not missing that one!

last time I visited doctors I had agonising blisters. Doctor agreed. "Yes you do have some superficial blisters on your tongue" he then ****ed me off to see some real patients...No I wont be going there again.

If it still hurts next week. Pizza/ Beer/ This
if not Cwmcarn. Got a new mudguard and everything. (and some lock ons - loose grips+ineptitude will always casue a crash)

cheers,
Dudes

I went OTB 3 weeks ago and crunched something in my lower left rib cage. Still sore. Never got painful, just sore. Its getting to the point where I'm wondering if it isn't a pulled muscle. Any ideas?

I assume if I'd burst my spleen or popped my appendix it'd hurt a lot more after 3 weeks ...

possibly the cartilage between the ribs.... Bust ribs usually hurt straight away (well in my experience and someopne else who bust a rib>)

Sadly likely to be a 'rest' and get better thing.

Go and see the doc for x ray to make sure.

The only problem I have with that diagnosis, is that you need muscles to pull in the first place.

😉

I wouldn't bother with an xray
if its a broked rib it will hurt for 6 weeks then get better.
if its not a broked rib it will hurt for 6 weeks then get better.
if you start coughing up blood or green stuff or suddenly find it very difficult to breathe, then seek medical advice (that means from a dr not on here)

GP: Hi Mr ADH, what can I do for you.

ADH: I think I've bust a rib, though not badly enough to need medical attention. I'd just like to bitch about it some.

GP: Chaff off so I can deal with some people I can assist then, numbnuts.

Took the "Toddler jumping repeatedly on chest" test earlier on. It was a sketchy pass. C an already sneeze without keeling over too

looks like Cwmcarn is on (if I can spell it)

glad to know I havnt got poppudum ribs and can enjoy my falling off without fear of damage
Not so glad I made such a fuss.

Your constipated so take some laxative to relieve the pressure on your chest, its a well know fact that constipation causes chest pain.

Ive got 6 cans of midweek Stella to enjoy. It usually has a mild bowel-loosening effect...
