Look at them, so bloody happy - until they need to pedal and then it's pedally pedally pedally whine whine whine. STFU and pedal you shits.
No caps, spelling OK 2/10
Hates a strong word mate.
They are still cyclists, end of day.:)
Not sure I heard any whinning, just people saying the pedaly bits made it tough. Just a statement of fact not a complaint. Looked great to me, I'm thinking of doing a couple of enduro's next year and the more pedaling the better for me.
Great trail!!
Is enduro XC on a full sus and in DH gear.?
Nice video.
Day off.
It's made decide to go to Gisburn.
So that's enduro, is it?
Looks like mountainbiking
Only managed a minute of that. Bit peddaly peddaly peddaly peddaly off.
Ever raced sirromj?

If it's scored as a rant, I agree. But I think it's probably a troll, posing as a rant. It's irritating, unfair to the point of being irrational, but something that a lot of people are going to feel qualified to weigh in on. We'll see where the post count gets to, but I'm thinking it's at least A 4/10 in the troll/rant category.
😉
If you want to see people whinge about pedalling you should go to an uplift day. A bus ride to the top then a gentle 30sec slight incline has people off pushing and moaning about hills 🙄
So Enduro? = For when riding around a trail centre becomes to hard to navigate and you need to pay an even higher price to ride between two tapes so that you don't get lost 😉
OP is envious of all the bright colours! 😀
That looked like fun 🙂
Video needed a few more people falling off in comical but non injuring ways, mind.
#Endooro is trailriding with a clock ticking that isn`t STRAFFA.....
Looks great!
Just like a normal bike ride really
Is enduro XC on a full sus and in DH gear.?
Go ride one! Take your XC bike and kit, you'll be fine!
the video made it look a bit tamer than it was, but even so it was quite a tame round. think they deliberately tried to wind it in a bit after the Grizedale one? also probably expected much worse conditions hence using more of the all weather tracks rather than the fresh cut stuff. all good fun.
I'm thinking of doing a couple of enduro's next year
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Theoretically I should do ok 🙂

The only whining I see is from you. They're just commenting on the course.
Never done a 'Enduro' but I finally got to ride Gisburn last weekend, really enjoyed the place.
As said above those riders aren't whinging they're just commenting on the course. The only whining is from the OP..
Whiney person comes on internet to whine about enduroists whining
It must be Friday !
[three yorkshiremen mode]
Pedalling...? When I were a lad we carried our bikes up th'ills.
[/three yorkshiremen mode]
In fact, last weekend we carried our bikes up th'ills. 6,500 ft of hike-a-bike in a 20 mile "ride"!
That's not whining, #endurowhining is pretty distinctive, it's what we all did after riding stage 6 at this year's tweedlove ews. It's just like trail whining only you wear yellow shorts and have to pay £50 to do it.
Give them a break, 100% grinz factor can only be maintained by riding a fatbike - everyone knows that!
Get a coffee bud ! pointless whinge 😐
Everyone should race at least one Enduro - they're absolutely amazing fun.
I have to admit, I can see how that vid's a challenge to deal-with. Turn the audio balance to the right and you lose the "pedally pedally whine whine" but then you have to deal with the irritating "guitar guitar whine whine".
You can just hit mute and watch some people riding their bikes, or indeed go for a ride yourself.
Never know, you might lighten up a bit 😉
Hate is a strong word.
Hate leads to the dark side. Well not any more, the FC closed it because the wood all went rotten.
I might be in the minority but I thought that looked good….
Looked alright, that. Didn't see any whinging, just some riders observing what sort of riding they'd been doing (pedally, in case you missed it) 😉 . They all looked pretty happy about it though.
PMBA series looks good, doesn't it? Might have to go and play at being pack-fodder at a few rounds next year. 🙂
I'm pack-fodder. 50th to 29th so far this season in my age group in PMBA's sister series the Welsh Enduro Series. I've not yet decided if I'll race the newly added final race at Dyfi or not or leave it until next year now. It's been loads of fun and the guys at the pointy end are as fit as butcher's dogs and deserve lots of respect. They only complain because it's all part of the image of Enduro to complain about pedalling. If there was no pedalling it would be DH. If there was too much pedalling it would be XC. So somewhere in the middle with a gravity bias is where Enduro sits and the technical skills required for some events is on the DH side of things.
This year was my first season doing a few Enduro rounds.
What other kind of racing can you do where a World Cup DH racer comes to race and have fun riding alongside us normal folk on a weekend off? Hats off to Harry Heath at The Marin race. The following weekend he was sat in the hot seat for ages at the World Cup DH.
Yeh, bloody enduroists - I keep passing them on my mtb while commute
they never say hello do they ?
- oh
Is enduro XC on a full sus and in DH gear.?
Yes, and judging by the vid few of them even needed a Camelbak so no doubt a short 'lap' 🙂
Is enduro XC on a full sus and in DH gear.?Go ride one! Take your XC bike and kit, you'll be fine!
does the ard rock enduro count? in which case its been moshed by beardie singlespeeder-ists on rigid bikes that cleaned all the climbs and were jolly quick when compared to the enduro masses overall
great video, made me want to join the club.... the Enduro club.
Oh, hang on, I already ride my bike so I must be Enduro!
I was told by an Enduro racer's life partner in a ridiculously patronising fashion that I "shouldn't base any tyre buying decisions on the basis of what he uses cos the riding he does is so much more extreme than anything you'll do."
She went on to add that he raced a couple of EWS rounds and that the terrain is substantially more difficult than ANYTHING in the UK. Antur, BPW or Fort Bill included.
b r - MemberYes, and judging by the vid few of them even needed a Camelbak so no doubt a short 'lap'
Ah don't get my started on this bollocks, bottles are more #enduro so now us that still wear camelbaks are basically emergency water bowsers and tool lenders for every damn idiot that's come out with no kit. But will still tell all their mates and the internet that ditching the camelbak is definitely the way to go, it's just waaaay better man. I might be shit at racing but I'm claiming joint share of 14th place at EWS for keeping Wym Masters going 😆

It is though, and you probably shouldn't unless you ride at a similar level. No doubt you were straining against the crushing irony of the fact that there have been rounds of the EWS in the UK, but in general the terrain is a lot more challenging.
The fact that most riders who had the luxury of doing so chose to ride their "trail" bikes as opposed to "enduro" bikes for the UK and Irish rounds is a good indicator.
That's my nephew on the opening screen still.
He doesn't wear flouro, as you can see.
He enjoys them and is entering lots more next year.
His bike has a equipment stowage pod in the down tube so he doesn't use a camel back, just bottles.
I'd like to try an enduro but its a little too costly for me and I'm sure I'd do a lot less well than I think I would.
I share your bitterness 🙂 A social ride last night with two mates; one had forgotten his water bottle and one was "enjoying the freedom of riding without a rucksack".us that still wear camelbaks are basically emergency water bowsers and tool lenders for every damn idiot that's come out with no kit
Guess who got thirsty and and guess who had a mechanical?

You know you can actually carry everything you need, even for an EWS without strapping a suitcase on you back? Some of us can, and have raced fully self sufficient, without the feeling of a sweaty midget trying to strangle you all day 🙂
It's really not that hard!
Yeah, a lot of people do say that. Then they say "Can I have a go of that pump after he's finished".
Joking really, I've no issue with the genuinely self sufficient, or the people happy to deal with the consequences of travelling too light, but an awful lot of racers that say they're self sufficient, are spongers. I think from now on I'll say "Aye you can have a tube but you're carrying my bag to the top of the next climb" 😆
Ferg Lamb takes it to the other extreme, I saw him pulling scrubbing brushes out of his enormous manbag and washing his bike in a river 😆
Enduro, freeriding, all-mountain, xc, fat biking, DH, CX, it's all riding bikes and having fun so who gives a s#it? As long as folk are out enjoying themselves. Beats sitting in front of the TV.

I don't doubt it! And good for them, but I'm sure that they'd agree that unless they won it, they have no place taking the piss.

Yeah I know... I know better really... Just felt like being a comedian. A touch of jealousy... I might be able to pedal a bit but only because I have to 😉
Weird....maybe I've just been riding my bike for too long....but in my day that sort of thing was known as Mountain biking....
What is this Enduro thing you speak of??
You've always ridden timed downhill stages with marshalls on a taped course???
Thoroughly enjoyed dominating the back of the field in the events I have done this year. (including the one in the OP).
Quite a different experience to a non-timed, non-competitive ride. I would recommend it to anyone, particularly the PMBA series.
Looked bloody great to me 🙂
I believe the OP was being ironic... but I am prone to being mistaken.
As many have eluded to above it is all riding a bike.
There is a trend at the moment toward using existing trail centre trails for enduro races. I understand how that begs the question of why pay to ride where you can go for nowt!
I have done some events this year; local off the radar stuff, day/night, national level enduro, EWS and some xc and mini DH.
The overriding thing I have taken from all of them is the fun i've had.
It is not the terrain or even the places I have been, it is the atmosphere, the camaraderie and the making of new friends.... like minded people having fun.
Do I like racing... not really, do I like going to races, hell yeah.
I am mid table fodder btw.
HaHaHa .... love the enduro banter.
Thanks for nice comments on the PMBA series.
