Like my Raleigh Burner did back in the early 80s? Don't the youth of today care about their knees / testicles?

i think for racing its still compulsory? 80s bmx was all about the racing 🙂

UCI dropped the pad rule in 2005 I think it was, I was at the world champs in Paris and the officials stopped checking for stem,bar and top tube pads so mine got ripped off there and then.

I think they realised that not only looking crap, also a couple of mm of foam isn't offering much protection

Remember all the local motion pads in Fluro colours for MTBs? They were essential as you could only get 20" and above frames and you got bought a bike "you'd grow into". 😉

Nice Mag Burner. Never had one as a kid keep toying with the idea of getting one now, but 41yo man in stir going to station is not cool is it?

Don't get sucked into the old skool BMX thing, pretty to look at dream of those great days back in the '80's but riding one is like getting a piggy back from a drunken midget!
