Leading on from the winter road bike thread I've realised that my quill adapter/stem looks really weird in comparison to some of the other using similar set up. Why is it? Been tempted to go back to quill, not sure if a silver stem would've been better. What do you think?
Never mind that, get some banana loaf made wi them mottled 'nanas!
It's a massive chunky stem on a slender tubed bike, that's why.
Looks Ok, I'd put the stem flat though 😉
stem's upsidedown for aesthetics.
I've got the same problem on my road bike. Try not to worry about it.
Mmmm Banana bread.....

Oh yes! Made a fair few of those recently as bananas haven't been eaten

You might be right, but the previous quill one was reasonably chunky, wasn't sure if it needed to be silver
Wrong colour, too chunky and upside down. Besides that it's bang on 😉
The problem is you are thinking about how your winter bike looks...when the weather closes in and the crud is all over, it won't matter how fat/flat or coloured your stem is...stop fussing and get it ridden!
I'm not that worried, ridden it for ages, just looks too modern. It's also my summer bike 😉
Banana cake in the oven. First time using a silicone tray so not holding too much hope
Oh dear god its awful. I see what you mean it just isn't right........
.....being so shallow as to worry about nothing more than a stem. Sheesh!
your bikes nice, stop worrying about little details. get out and ride.
It is pretty shocking I'm worried about aesthetics on it and it hadn't bothered me until Sunday when I had bonked and was lying in a hedge staring at it
On one are doing some nice looking quill stems for £10ish. Been pondering one for my road/rat bike as the stem on that is only 25mm.
