I know what I want, I know it wouldn't cost me too much, I can easily afford it to the point I wouldn't even notice and yet I stop myself on the grounds I can't justify it as I have a perfecty good bike already. (well apart from the front hub being knackered but just won't die)

I want ( not need )

A new 29er Scandal
On-one rigid forks
Hope pro 2 hubs based wheels
Hope stem
Hope headset
Thompson seat post
Spoon ti saddle

The rest I'd take off my current bike

????? 50/50 on just ordering the lot right now, give me some reasons!

Anywhere doing 29er hoops at a good price?

Life is short and you're a long time dead.

Order your bike and go ride it.

That's my excuse especially when buying stuff from Hope, that I am funding British industry and helping the British economy. Try it, makes you feel warm and fuzzy 🙂

It's like that song 'Why does it always rain on me?' Erm maybe it's cos you live in Scotland where it tends to rain a lot? 😕

Just a thought, like....

I'm the same. You just never know when something important is going to come up that needs the money.

Fancy a Mach loop tomorrow?

I'm afraid there's some unfinished DIY with my name on ... sorry I'd have loved a ride out otherwise 🙁

I see your pain Tiger. I literally just went through the same thing. buying a hardtail of better quality, when my previous was in perfect condition.
The only thing that pushed me over to get it was 1) Higher quality materials. 2) elitism of knowing I would have a rare bike 3) the test ride.
even then, after I got it home and was putting it together, I was weary. Even after a few rides on my local trails, I was weary. but now, I am fine and very happy for getting it.
(replacing sentiment that don't need replacing, right?)

If you really want 29r wheels. Get it.

However...there is a satisfaction in being happy with what you've got! Be wary of adverts and others making you think to want/need something that perhaps you don't...

I'm always thinking I'd like to buy a new TV, however these thoughts NEVER occur when I'm actually watching the TV! Says something right there don't you think!
