I've just had some M8 shock bolts milled out of Bumax Ultra Strainless - 1600 mpa tensile strength vs the 1200mpa of the cheapo high tensile 12.9s I had on before.

I did it because I could and because bending shock bolts scare me. Now my frame should snap in half before the bolts do.

Manufactured a way to keep warm in this weather. Only finest 300 MPa mild steel was used in the construction.

I had some titanium and carbon washing-line pegs made and sent off to Las Vegas for a pack of Poker cards to stick in my spokes to make it sound like a motor bike.

I'm quite proud of the front end of my touring bike. All style, no functionality 🙂
.

I've added ergon grips since then.

The thing about the radiator bike is it doesn't look daft. I saw it finding round Rich's ssuk campsite did I not? Whilst sipping my pornstar martini unless I'm mistaken...

Not just the campsite at ssuk - it did the race and almost got in the top 10! But my god is it rigid / bumpy.

Local cx league commissaire politely asked that I didn't race the saddle-free bike. It didn't meet the three contact points rule (pedals, saddle, feet) and I think they were a little worried that tired buckling legs would result in a messy undercarriage - knobbly tyre interface 🙂

Ah see I wouldn't know about the race because I was almost 10th last...

At least that radiator bike has no hydraulic brakes or reverb post to bleed, just the frame.
