I only have a measly total of 3 perfectly usable tyres that are not on a bike right now.
How about you?

The pair on my current bike were not stock (was a frame build) and only cost me about £15 in total.
I bet there are people here who could triple both the above figures easily!

Must be a dozen or so, several tubeless but holed, others bought cheap or sh. CBA/afford following the stw must-have tyre choice.

I've got about 10 probably. Some are dual ply DH tyres. I tend to buy tyres when there is an offer/discount going on as I don't really like paying more than about £20 for them. Got a couple with the recent Evans discount that I won't need for a little while.

I like trying different tyres, buy when cheap in sales.

They don't eat anything & it's good fun.

2 sets of spares at the mo, they'll all get used eventually.

Probably five or six pairs that are actually any good. Also have some hardly used OE tyres in bin bags that I drip feed to a mate who is too tight to buy any decent tyres.

Used to have at least a dozen used one around as I'd change them almost every week or two

Now I use tubeless and change them maybe two or three times a year
And have 3 or 4 spares around

I've got probably ten tyres not currently on a bike. I tend to give them away when I realise they haven't been on a bike for a year. Then buy more!

Hmm, not sure. Not including those that are on bikes...

1 pair old and buttery road tyres that came on my first road bike
1 pair 2.5" super tacky minions bought for a trip to Spain
1 pair intense something or other I bought but didn't like
1 pair old Cinders, just in case I need them one day
1 pair trailrakers, still used in winter/mud
1 pair C:\ drives from my old Kona

I'm sure there's another pair or two but can't remember. If anyone wants to add to their collection let me know/make me an offer!

Its amazing how little tyres sell for and how much it costs to post them.

I had about 35 when I finally admitted that it had become a problem.

I no longer count but probably about 12 or 15 spares now.

I don't have an excessive amount I don't think but when I went to the WC at Fort Bill last year I bought:

2 pairs of Maxxis Wetscreams
2 Pairs of Maxxis High Rollers
2 pairs of Maxxis Minions

I'd already got a good set of High Rollers and a good set of Minions so still all the above are hanging nicely in my garage. Looks nice when I open up the door though so it was worth it 😀

Just sold 5. Still got maybe 30 or so not on bikes. But I don't think you're a real tyre whore til you've got a spreadsheet.

I'm considering being one, On_one have loads of ridiculoulsy cheap tyres at the mo, I could spend lots and keep them in storage....

Swapping to a 29er started me trying different tyres again, so I have about 4 pairs. I'm happy with the Racing Ralphs now so will run them year round. I usually runs some Smallblock8's through the summer, but will stay on the Ralphs now. They roll just as fast, especially the new ones.

I have 3 good spares but can’t seem to find a better rear tyre than an old almost worn out wire bead speech tyre, rolls super fast and seems to grip fine. Everything else just feels super slow and draggy. Paired with a Black Chilli M King up front for ubber grip.

Spares:
2 ADvantage 70A wire bead. Brilliant tyres.
Mountain King 2 Black Chilli
Specialized Captain Control

No idea what to get for my 29er. Maybe two Smorgasbord's and a Chunky Monkey.

Does anyone use Bonty Muds all year? They seem to roll well and grip brilliant.
Should be able to sell my tyre mountain by using them exclusively.

Last time I counted I had 74 and I've acquired at least 8 since then, sold a pair and junked 2 pair, so guessing ~ 76!!

Result of having 7 bikes and numerous wheels for each bike so I don't have to ferk around changing tyres at race weekends 😀

I currently have the opposite problem.... 2 mountain bikes, 1 set of tyres, its quite the pain when you want to ride a different bike.

I've been using the same pair of bonty mud 2.1's for about 2 years, they aren't as grippy as at first, but they are still great in the mud, and I've only had a couple of pu....'s, they are plenty fast enough with a decent amount of air in them, and always grippy, far more versatile than their name suggests.
