With hotels and B&B's opening on the 4th July and a country full of people gagging to get away from their house to avoid cabin fever, who's planning/has booked an MTB trip?

I've just booked 2 nights in the Peak District for the 16th July, plan is to drive up Thursday morning, check in, then do Cut Gate that afternoon/evening (if its dry enough), and then a bigger ride on the Friday.

What have you got planned/booked?

A week in Ibiza at the end of August. Thankfully there is an excellent cancellation policy on the bookings.

Booked a couple of weeks July/August in Scotland in January, hoping they'll lift restrictions there as well by the middle of July. Looks promising for the 15th but not definite yet.

Nothing.

It's my Wife's fault, we want to go to Bluestone in Pembrokshire in September, it's quickly being booked up but she won't make a move until she knows EXACTLY what will be open, what will be closed, how it will all work etc before committing, I've tried to convince her that with everything being so fluid there's no chance we'll know much ahead of time and a local spike either at home, or there could mean our plans are cancelled anyway, so we've done nothing.

Also, I'd quite like a weekend in Amsterdam with some friends of ours in Oct, same story, she won't budge until all facts are known, in infinite detail with absolute assurances nothing with change.

Still, saves me some money for bike stuff I suppose.

Week at the end of September in Innerleithen, originally was the weekend lockdown kicked off. Contemplating france, but rather be spending my money in the UK.

We wont be on Cutgate as we always do it from the Langsett end. We will probably ride from the camper around the Hope area.

Did a break down on what we spend on trips to Alps and to Scotland and the rest of the UK throughout the year. Was suprised at how many times we go to Scotland year in year out was well above our couple of Alps trips a year.

Still got my fingers crossed for Sospel, San Remo and Finale mid September

We are in the process of booking campsites in the alps for the last 2 weeks of July. Ferry tickets were bought pre covid. Now it looks like we can go it’s time to decide where

Is the 5 mile rule definitely being lifted in Wales from Monday?

Could do with some trips away in the van with junior, especially as I've got a new bike coming in the next couple of weeks.

Hope the weather’s nice.

*Looks out window*
*Notes heavy rain and midgies chasing the builders around next doors garden*
*Comes back to STW to make smarmy comment*

I wouldn't hold your breath...

Got my stay at Grinton YHA confirmed just the other day. So 2 nights in a camping pod, first weekend of August, riding in Reeth and the surrounding area.

Was originally going for Ardrock, but may as well still go and hopefully contribute a little bit to the local area.

Planning on doing a day out on the mtb and a day on the road.

Just hoping I can get in the local pubs to eat.

I've also booked a week in the tweed valley at the end of September, there from Sunday evening until Saturday morning when I'm on 5 day guided trip in the Cairngorms.

That's going to be a LOT of riding in the 2 weeks...

Booked a day hillwalking on Arran next week, super excited to get on a proper mountain. Then a week in Aviemore in 2 weeks time, it's only mibbe 3 hours drive, but in reality it's a world away. 🙂

Awesome looking gravel tour of Lochaber and Ardnamurchan still on the cards for September, just waiting for Scotrail to open up bike bookings but can fall back on mates car if needs be.

Also have just booked Raid Pyrenean for 2021. We're actually 13 months premature on that one but it felt good to get something booked and have a target for next year. Just debating booking Ryanair flights now or waiting...

We had to cancel our five-ferries excursion in June, but hoping to have another crack in August. Are the ferries back to normal now?

Wife has booked a cottage for us in Glen Clova for a few nights at the end of next week. She had no idea how immense the mountain biking is up there!

No, only around 20% capacity, and booking only in advance, even for foot passengers.

She had no idea how immense the mountain biking is up there!

Result!

Cancelled our fortnight in Spain, now looking to go for a few long weekends in the UK instead. Wales, New Forest and the Cotswolds are looking likely. Hopefully we'll get some bookings done this weeks.

Had to cancel our annual Aviemore visit for May Bank Holiday, staying at Loch Insh Water sports. Heard they were opening up again so managed to book 6 nights from 10 July. After home schooling 3 13yr olds for 15 weeks we need the break.

Tunnel is booked for the 10th July, we will be taking the campervan over. Nothing else is booked yet.

Mr TW is determined that we are going to road bike up Mont Ventoux. I honestly thought I'd been saved by a miracle but it's looking highly likely we will be going.

After a few days at Ventoux* we'll go to the Southern Alps for some lift-assisted mountainbiking. Anyone been to Val d'allos? Or around that area?

*I'm targeting a climb time of around a few days.

Not riden at Val d’allos but have had a couple of trips just north of it at Les Orres. Some great riding to be had.
They held a round of the EWS last year so had a weeks riding.

Northumberland (Beadnell) on Saturday, booked last year and it's been off and on again more times than I can count. Day trip or 2 to Danny Hart's place just to repay his Golfie sins! Anyone know what the push/pedal up is like?
Comrie Croft 15th, daughter camping with pals.
Nevis uplift 17th July. (If junior finishes his schoolwork!)
Skye airbnb 31st July for fairy pools swim and Coire a Ghrunnda explore.
That actually sounds like quite a lot.

Was supposed to be fly to the Alps on the 11th, obviously that got cancelled. Booked 3 nights in the Lakes starting on the 12th, but being just inside the Leicester lockdown area, means that's now cancelled as well 🙁

Just been trawling AirBnB for something in the weeks after and unless I want to spend a fortune, everything's booked up.

Looks like we are heading from Aberdeenshire to just outside Bristol to see the brother in law when i get off nights in a weeks time. Hopefully manage to get a day at bike park wales if i can crawl out of my pit to get it booked along with bike hire when bookings go live. Plan was to take the daughter but shes not up for a pedal pass which to be honest would be pretty hard on her ..... having said that I'll be knackered after a full day there.

Just below the town centre, there is an motor home and camper spot with all the facilities about 1/2 mile down from the town centre with toilet and shower facilities. Loads of camping in the valley bottom around the lake

I'm going to Rotorua on Sunday till Friday (I will also go to Taupo whilst there as it's only 45 mins down the road) Sadly the weather forecast is looking a bit bleak for the whole week.

Nothing. Maybe last week in July or first week in August up to the Lakes. To clear the MiL's house as she died in January.
Other traveling might include Brussels for work, Singapore for work and Vietnam for work. But they're not going to happen.
On a smaller scale I'd quite like to be able to cycle out to a quiet campsite, go to a country pub, and not get rained on.
Visiting my parents is out for the foreseeable. At 89 and 87 they're top risk.

Away on Saturday to Northumberland with the tin shed for 3 nights. Adult only site with 16 pitches. Easy to keep out the way of people. Another trip for 4 nights to the Holderness coast later this month, yet another to Northumberland early August & 10 nights on Arran later in August (not holding my breath on that one)
It'll make up for the 2 weeks in Spain we missed & the Med cruise we shouldv'e gone on yesterday.

Hoping that our 11 nights camping in Cornwall for August, booked last year, can still go ahead.

Micro-bivvy with two mates planned Monday night, after work, back in time for work the following day.
