I have a southpaw, it is rubbish. It cannot be tightened properly on my aluminium bars and moves away from you during use. I went back to the original lever, it is less comfy but it is always in the same place.
I think the brand x lever could be a suitable replacement, and this thread has encouraged me to buy one.

I have a Southpaw fitted to aluminium bars and it's rock solid.

Maybe try a little carbon assembly paste if it's still moving for you?

Mine is fine much better than the stock lever and no problem with slipping. did you use the clear strips?

I didn't at first as the instructions said they were for carbon bars. However I fitted them when it started moving and they made things worse.
I've found this carbon paste recommended by scotroutes and realised I need it for my post anyway, helps it grip in the seat tube so gonna try that, and the brand x jobbie for comparison.

Some seatposts (and frames) ship with a little tube of assembly paste.

Grease the bolt and either carbon paste or heli tape on the bars.

Thanks all. I just bought some stuff off Wolf components and the import duty was eye watering. So probably not going back there. Shame as I like their stuff. I thought someone off here was making some CNC ones a few months ago for sale, but maybe it was something else...

I'll take a look at the bonty one...

The southpaw is abysmal especially on carbon bars as it does not grip them and moves around. Some use the clear strips provided or tape etc but they do not work well and needing them proves it's an appalling design. I changes both my southpaws for the race face turbine one which is a rip off at £50 but infinitely better, does not move and feels effortless to use.

I use the southpaw on my stealth thomson dropper, using the included tape is a waste of time as others have said, it spins and forces the tape to kink, which then gets dirt under it and it never works again. I've wrapped some inner tube under it since and although its not tidy I prefer it to the original remote and now it never spins.

I took the clear strips off as it required more torque to keep it from moving.

Lewis has a southpaw on his ripcord with carbon bars. no issue with it moving. I have the triggy on my bike with the DeHy reverb kit. It sits a bit down using the I-Spec B fitment.

Does anyone know if that Bonty lever fixes the cable with a grub screw or the metal cable end? Just wondering if it would work with a Giant dropper.

Sorry, did a quick search and found out it attaches at the lever so will work with the giant dropper. Guess I'll be buying one!

I have a KS supernatural post where the cable is grubscrewed at the seatpost end.
If i got that bonty lever could i snip the cable nobby bit (don't know the actual name of it) and secure at the lever end too and adjust tension with the twisty thingamyjig it should work right?*

*I didn't sleep properly and can't remember any technical terms this morning

That Bontrager remote looks like a bargain.
Just picked up a South Paw though, so will see how that goes.

I really do not know, I did it up to 5nm first time as that is typical handlebartight, it moved like hell. after much fiddling now I tighten it as hard as I dare with a longish hex key, still moves. I have tried two different bars. The gear and brake levers work fine.
I am awaiting my carbon paste, hopefully.
