You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm about to get an extension done with a dedicated office for myself, and as my loft is heaving with old crap I'm thinking of hanging an original Stiffee frame, a Turner burner frame & a 25th Anniversary edition Raleigh Burner BMX on the walls.
Has anyone done similar, or will it look totally stupid to 'normal people'?
I know my wife will hate it, but I can deal with that 😉
Pics most appreciated.
Cheers.
that sounds like an awesome idea!!!
Tried it, but reckon it looks pretty average to non-bikers - it doesn't really work aesthetically IMHO. They're nice for the memories they inspire I guess.
Sticking them up in the man cave isn't great value for antagonising the missus, either - you should try and mount them in the living room to really show her who's boss.
My wife objected to the Klein on the wall.
But on a point of order I feel like hunting trophies they should be dead and therefore only broken/cracked frames should be hung up. Otherwise its just a waste of a good ride 😉
Cheers all, I knew Stoner would be the first one with a pic 😉 I think it looks nice, if you have always been 'into' bikes then I guess it shouldn't matter what others think, after all others idea's of art often conflict with my own.
I was thinking one frame per wall, but I think a frame either side of a built BMX above my desk may look nice. That leads to the next question, should I buy a sacrificial set of bars & cut them down, or just twist the bars 90 degrees?
Cheers.

You tried to shag an old bike frame in your living room. 😯
Was it like a danger w4nk kind of thing? 😉

Definitely twist the bars through 90 deg.

Amp - the only bike i have ever owned and not ridden
I did at one time for short while have a red cannondale
R600 frame on my wall. Being the christmassy end of the year it was decorated with fairy lights too.
over the years a few but always replaced with other things, pretty useleess to non bikers
Wow 😛 - always wanted one of those bitd. In fact I remember Cambria Bike (where incidentally my next frame is winging its way from) had a tiny (well as tiny as they did back then) blue one on special offer but by the time I'd raised the cash it had gone - I was gonna christen it Marshall 😥
The lil red 'bred was wall art in my kitchen for several years (being built up now and again when I got bored) until I sold it - it deserved to be ridden. In retrospect I probably should've kept it - now I have to buy stuff when boredom sets in and I have the urge to build something else 🙄
