You should have kept it.
It would have given you motivation to get out on it when you get better*

*Really hope you do.

*waves* coo-ee

And it's your 'fault', but I do love it. Needs a bit of tlc as it has been ragged this year, but BB, chain, chainrings, and cable set all waiting for it for post Christmas lovin.

Alan,
Having bought an El Ciclon off you a few years back, I'm sure the latest version rides just as well, but I have to say that you've built that up looking - how can I put this? - well, 'great face for radio' and all that.

Probably very shallow of me, but I think that if you lost the crudcatchers and put some lower-rise bars on there, it'd be a better advert for what is after all a fantastic bike.

BTW, how much for a frame with a 142mm rear axle?

Jon

I build the bike I ride to suit my needs. Here is a pic of a test bike without mudgaurds.
The frame price is £1599.00. There is a test in What Mountain Bike Jan issue.

I know, Alan, I'm just messing with you. Sorry.

I'm guessing that WMB liked it...?
What did they say?

They liked it a lot 4.5 stars, said as it was a bargain for ride and quality of manufacture, especially as it is still built in the USA.

I love my X-5, and loved my El Salt.

Very jealous of the 2012 pics though...

Same reason I sold my El-Ciclon, but I it had way more ability than I. Current bike aside, it was the best bike I'd ever ridden. But we change, & the poor Ciclon sat watching my 29er Inbred going out the shed door every week. Amazing detail & quality.

when i get well again, i will probably buy another one, cos they are that good.
