My Scandal is making an awful racket and I suspect the rear dropouts. The non drive side has a chainring bolt which is spinning and I can't tighten it or remove it as I've knackered the back.

On-one have replacement bolts listed on their site for steel and carbon frames but not the Scandal. I've emailed on-one but knowing their customer service record I'm not holding my breath.

Can I get these bolts anywhere else? Chain reaction and Merlin seem to not stock or at least don't look long enough. Anyone already fixed this?

Well on-one have come up trumps and are sending some replacements! Good service!

Got the old one out using the soldering iron trick to heat the inner sleeve to break the seal (googled it!) so all looks good.

Will update if the creak is fixed 🙂

I had to shave the bolts on my scandal to make sure they did up tight as the 'nut' bit was too deep for the frame and stopped the whole thing gripping. I put a smear of grease between the dropout and frame too.

My approach has been to live with the infernal creaking. Maybe I shouldn't be so lazy and give it a once over.

h4muf, did greasing the dropouts help reduce the creaking?

Other than the creaking I love the bike.

Yes, need doing every 6 months really, depending on how much you use it.
