Soo was mooching around strava segment explorer around Whitehaven, any north lakes locals can give the low down on the trails near Wilton?

You mean #BikeparkDent. Yeah it's a great wee local area. Been riding there for years. Lots of classic XC and forest trails, then there's been a new influx of young builders the last few years building more modern steep enduro stuff.

was guided around there last September for the first time in years (don't live local anymore). some really good stuff. parked up near Nannycatch gate(??) and rode up the fire road from there.

You could park up behind East Road Garage and ride up front there. It’s quite a nice decent to do at the end of a ride.

I haven't ridden that way for a few years - But there are definitely lots of options up Dent and around towards Ennerdale bridge. The Bway up from the garage takes you over a ford - always a wet/cold ride and more of an out and back with bits added on..
Nannycatch road takes you up to the Blakeley Raise stone circle . đŸ™‚
