Staying in Hartington this weekend, and will hopefully have time for a one way ride back from Hassop/Bakewell on Saturday around other family stuff.

Does a route via the Monsal trail and pennine bridleway sound sensible/ easy to navigate? Don’t really want to be bog trotting or navigating too much.

Yup - very easy.

Monsal to the 'end of the trail' / Blackwell Mill. Up and over the tops to the High Peak.......then take a right fork onto Tissington......should take you to Hartington. Or take one of other signposted routes off the trails to Hartington.....footpaths though 🙂

You planning anything off road? Coz there's been plenty of rain over the last few days and it'll be muddy hell.

@jekkyl that’s kind of my question- is the above route likely to be a mud fest?

Mostly hardpack trails which will be wet and a few puddles but nothing major.

Email me iainjagger@gmail.com if you want advice as I'm local to the area (Taddington)
