Plan is for Whinlatter tomorrow. Can anyone up there report back as to the conditions at the minute please?
Fine, as usual it is grippier when it's actually raining, couple of big branches about sticking into the trails, but didn't come across any total obstructions last night.
Trail is fine, bit of slushy snow on the higher sections this morning but ok otherwise, south side probably has more snow than the north but may be washed away in the rain coming later today
Nice one cheers. I've ridden it before when there was a bit of snow on the top of the south loop and it wasn't a problem. It's the wind I'm more concerned about. The forecast doesn't look too bad so all looks well.
Any update on conditions at whinlatter?
Fine, wet, a little fresh snow.
We rode the north loop at about 1030 this morning, it started to snow as we were on the fire road up and was quite cold and windy at the top where it's exposed. As expected, the snow was [s]worse[/s] better on the south loop. It was about 2 to 3 inches deep on the switchbacks and certainly made it interesting on the way back down!
We had aimed to do 2 loops of each north and south, but after 1 of each and lots of fun we decided to quit while ahead and headed down the road for a burger in dry attire.
Off here for the first time this weekend. Any tips gents?
