Hi,

Has anyone here taken a young child down the blue at Whinlatter?

Was it suitable?

Thanks,

Si

Should be fine if confident on a bike

Hoppy jr did a good chunk at 5 1/2, I did have the tow for the hills as they can be a bit draggy but he loved the descents, he preferred glentress blue though.

My son did both blue loops last year when he was 5 and a half years old.

He loved it and didn't have any problems.

Might need a push up some of the slopes, but I’ve seen loads of kids that age on there.

Based on how my son rode at 6, it would be fine. Note: the blue at whinlatter has a short-cut back at around halfway, so you'll have a simple bale-out if needed.

You didn't mention what sort of bike, but it's pretty hilly so would be hard going on a single-speed. It's quite narrow in places too, so would be tough to ride alongside and push them along.

That said, it's a fun loop and I'm sure they'll enjoy it!
