Just been up to Whinlatter today with some novice bikers - had lots of fun on the new blue route. They have done a really good job of making it interesting for novices and more experienced people - there's lots of little optional drop-offs and rocky bits on climbs you can do or not, some quite big berms and reasonable jumps.

V impressed and a great introduction to biking - they loved it - found it challenging but doable and did a couple of laps. It means there is more of a reasonable length of trail including all the bits, especially if you add on the excellent bridleway descent to Thornthwaite.

Second that Rode it last week and thought that as a blue it was still fun. Think it will we be good in the winter with the lights on!

Those 2 berms on the blue are ace.
More of a day out now with the reds as well

Yeah it has some big berms on it, probably bigger than any on the red route I think. Tbh it's not much easier than the bottom section of the south loop on the red.

You can get some pretty good air off some of the jumps on it too. Still needs bedding in a little in places though I think.

Like the way it has a shorter option, and you can kind of 'session' the sections by going back up on the fire road. Perfect for beginners or skills training type stuff I reckon.
