Want to go to 36 teeth on rear of Mrs flap_jack's compact equipped road bike. It's got 10speed 105 on it, so I know I'll have to change the mech as well as the cassette.
Are there compatibility problems (pull ratios) with shadow + ? Or other probs ?

9 speed xt rear mech, not a 10 speed will marry up to a 10 speed 105 shifter!
I got a XT 34-11 cassette and a XT shadow 9 speed when I did it.
Works great with my 34-50 compact.
Not sure about a 36-11 cassette though but should be ok if the rear mech you buy is compatible.
Thanks. I imagine the capacity with a 36 should be all right with a 34 front...unless someone knows different
SLX rear, 105 shifters, 36 (maybe 34?) cassette, 46/34/24 chainset, works fine.

Yep, a 9 speed Shadow mech will be fine with the 36t and the 10 speed cassette. Can't do Shadow + though, they're 10 speed (MTB) only.
