This is For a mate who had his spesh pinched .
So needs to be light but not ht race type of bike and will be a 17"" frame so no need for 29 wheels .
Poss FS but weight will go up and price
Any help would be good as don't know much at this price bracket !

Best just looking in the classifieds, I had a similar issue after my last bike was nicked and got a great deal on an Orange ST4 from off here.
Then also picked up a Spec Camber off ebay for the same price so plenty about just a case of watching!
That's what I would do
but he wants a new new bike as he is not good with maintenance and the price of spares etc
So new it is !
if he's not worried about the bike being obsolete (and the associated risk of death) there are lots of 26" bikes for sale in various shops.
such as a whyte 901 in medium frame (not sure if this is 17" by the way)
