Who knows of any stage races in Europe,

I had wanted to do the trans wales, but the dates conflict with other plans, the trans Germany is booked out, and the trans alps would undoubtedly be too much for my fitness levels.

So what else is out there as a possibility to set as a target for the year? I am looking for something fun with a good atmosphere, where I am not going to get to much stick for trailing in last.

Trans Provence was mentioned in here eralier. Sounds good to me, and I think is a 2011 target once transwales done this year . Also timing I'd not slap in middle of school holidays which I'd a real plus if you have a family

There's one in Poland, I know someone who did it last year and loved it.

The polish one looks promising. The trans provence looks a bit pricey, but the riding looks good, maybe one to look at after I have got some stage race experience.

simply_oli_y off here did the polish one too and really enjoyed it. Seemed organisation was very good, as was the weather and riding.

Looked at the Trans Provence before and found this

"To register you must to be one of the first 64 people to email us with an entry request" and results from last year go down to 29th.

which suggests there are a maximum of 64 prople in it which seems a bit small, more of a large holiday than a stage race.

Why not do the Tour of Mont Blanc with MBMB. I did it with a couple of friends last year and now have some more good friends and some great memories. The riding was epic. Three of us could not face TransWales again after the wettest week in Wales for 100 years. We had all done TransScotland the year before.
