I have done a few searches, but not come up with any definitive stw opinion. I have a gore tex waterproof, base layers and jerseys etc, but what soft shells are reccomended? Needs to be one with adequately long arms as im a bit of an ape. Ideally under a £100. Looked at a few endura offerings, and the local blacks has a north face one, but this isnt going to be bike specific.

What do you all use?

I use Gore, full stop. Love them. Phantom II, Oxygen etc. etc. Lasts for years too so worth the extra few quid.

I got an Endura FS260 Jetstream jersey last year - windproof front, warm back. Wore it last winter in all but the snowiest stuff. It's a half way house between a jersey and a softshell but I tend to run hot so a full softshell would just be boil in the bag for me.

Just got an Endura Fusion and tested it out on a windy wet freezing Snowdon on Sunday. Great peice of kit. Can be worn next to skin or with a base layer for proper toasty.

Good fit and features too. Sizing is on the large side though. I'd recommend it.

Gore Phantom's are nice, although I also have Pearl Izumi and Altura windproof softshells which were about half the price and perform pretty much the same (I've also never detached the arms from my Phantom, a feature which probably adds to the cost).
