Hi, can anyone give me an idea of the sizing on a Giant Trance X2 2009 ?
I've been riding a small XTC 3 for years so naturally tried the small in the trance, while it felt okay to me the guys in the shop reckon for my height (5"10) I should be riding a medium. All the sizing guides point to a medium also. Trouble is there isn't a medium I can try and I can get a really good deal on the small. But now the seed is planted I can't get it out of my head that I should be on a medium. Any-one else my height riding a small ? any opinions appreciated.

I agree. I'm 5.11 and ride a medium X2 (2008) and wonder if it's a tad small with a 70mm stem on (trances have shortish effective top tubes). But the large felt like a gate and the small like a toy.
You probably don't want the 100mm stem IMO and probably want wider bars too. And put 30% sag on the rear shock, use the RP2 propedal on climbs. I flies up and along then hoovers up everything going down. The otherwise brilliantly plush Fox fork is outclassed by the rear suspension which is saying something.
Watch out for the nevegal tyres, good all round grip and low weight but can be puncturetastic. Have fun.

just for info I ride a large X1 (2008) and I am 6 foot 1 felt a bit big at the start coming from a 19 inch rockhooper but have gotten used to it now
