Currently have SLX M675 brakes on both my bikes, which I've been quite impressed with.
Nice and easy to bleed and set up - easier than the last SRAM ones I had.
So if I were to upgrade my brakes and stick with Shimano which 4 pot would you go for?
Currentlly looking at XT, Saint or Zee.
Had my zees for over 3 years now with no problems from the calipers at all... Whereas the older style shimano levers were rubbish. Still using the zee calipers but with m7000 slx levers and they're brilliant.
If I was buying full brakes I'd just get the Deore 4 pots. I only went with the XT 4 pot with my recent caliper purchase as it was just doing a caliper swap and wanted to keep the banjo connection.
Do Saints have the i-spec options?
How do they compare to XT 4 pots?
Saints and Zee are I-spec B. XT are I-spec II.
Saint, XT and Zee are the same calliper in different finishes.
Saint and XT come with Icetech pads held in place by a bolt. Zee uses standard pads and a split pin to retain them - you can upgrade though.
Saint and XT levers have a one piece forging for lever body and reservoir, and have free stroke adjustability and a tool free reach adjuster. Zee uses a plastic reservoir cover and has no free stroke adjustment and needs an Allen key to adjust reach.
Servowave on new XT lever is more gradual than on Saint, so potentially better modulation.
Replace the current slx callipers with 4-pot XT
I looked at all Shimano options lately, and bought a set of Deore 4-pots and some metal pads. It's the best bang for buck by quite some
