Bl***y hell, you can pay a lot for disc rotors!
Got some new Hunt wheels for my CX/gravel bike on the way. Centrelock fitting. Brakes are SRAM Rival Hydro.
So, where do I get good value (£30-40 pair max) good (enough) quality rotors from?
Wheels come with adaptors so don't necessarily need centrelock ... but what are the advantages of centrelock rotors?
You can take them on and off with q cassette tool....ummmm...that's about it I think.
I find that on the one set of wheels I have them on there is noticeable rotation of the discs.

Would you not get that with the CL adaptors for 6 bolt rotors too?
Anyway, the more important question is recommendations for good value, good enough rotors ...
And a follow up ... Do Shimano rotors need to be used with Shimano pads? I'm sure that on my MTB in the past, I've had Shimano discs, fitted generic pads, and they've been rubbish, but solved by fitting Shimano pads. Seems a bit of a ballache!
I run Shimano rotors with Hope pads (no idea who they ource them from) and they are fine. I've also run with other pads with mixed results, but I'm not blaming the rotors. (Uberbike ok.
Surperstar - some were ok, next lot squealed all the time. At least one other brand were ok, don't recall the name.)
I genuinely cannot see that who puts their name to disc rotor that then gets clamped by a pair of pads will make th slightest bit of difference.
If the rotor is rubbish it's rubbish no matter what pads are used.
If the pads ar rubbish, then it wont matter what rotor is used.
More importantly, if the system is set up badly, or pads not bedded in, or anything contaminated - then it will give poor results.
Be interested to hear a reason that I might be wrong though.
