You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I recently got a new frame. Due to its shock position and fat downtube, fitting it to my current Thule 591 rack is difficult. Its not impossible but the shock gets in the way of the clamp and the down tube shape is pretty square so not sure how secure it is.
What are people using to cart around their bikes these days? For reference the frame is a santa cruz Nomad.
I'm looking for a rack at the moment too, primarily for a Bronson. I like the look of the Yakima HighRoad and the Thule Upride. I think the HighRoad looks like the better rack, but it's limited to a 48 inch wheelbase which (just) rules it out for me.
[edit] I now see that the UpRide is limited to 1240mm wheelbase, which also rules it out for me as the XL Bronson comes in at 1252mm.
I use an Atera Giro AF, but that won't work for you as it has a similar clamp method as the Thule 591.
How about the Thule 561 that holds the rear wheel & fork directly. You need to remove the front wheel, but IMO it makes for a much more stable mounting structure.
Yakima fork chop here sold bit of kit and as long as yourbars can go long enough down the roofs rails it’ll take some pretty long wheel based bikes.
I think the wheel or fork mounts may be the only option!
