Have decided on some of the above for my daughters racing bike after some advise from a previous thread.
Which do I buy?
Some seem to use the same front and rear or a combo of the 2!
Also does anyone know the meaning of the dc tag on some. They seem light but cheaper!!
There is far too much choice!!

DC stands for dual compound. Are they the performance ones? - I think they are not tubeless ready, hence the cheapness.

I have the Pacestar Ralph 2.25s on F&R at the moment. Surprised by how much grip they have, although definitely a dryish conditions tyre. Bit of a bugger to get the sidewalls sealed though.

Dual Compound ones have harder wearing compound on the center knobs but softer compound on the edges, for better cornering grip/less drag on straight runs.

Hi Martin
We will not be tubeless.
Hoping to go for the 2.1 as she is still quite small
Thanks
For the advice

Racing Ralph Evo Snakeskin Gatestar 2.25" are about £22 from Germermany at the moment (Bike Discount I think). Grippy as a very grippy thing and tubeless nicely too.

I wouldn't get their non-evo ones tbh, and the snakeskin sidewalls keep the tyre from squirming at lower running pressures.

Only other point of note is that the 2.25s I have are tiny in comparison with 2.2 Captains and 2.3 Purgatory - more like the 2.1 Captains and Fire XCs that preceded them.
2.1 might be better for racing anyhow, though.

I would go Rons first. They are a great year round all round tyre.
I use em most of the time and switch to Ralphs when it gets drier (July 4th - 10th).

I got these for my 10 year old's bike, great value, thinner than Ralphs in the casing (so not good for heavy riders) but lots of grip and 465g, ideal for a small person.

On a side note, Schwalbe say these can't be repaired once torn. I have successfully repaired two 4mm slashes in the sidewall and tread from the inside using bits of old inner tube and vulcanising rubber solution. Easy peasy!

I'd go for the snakeskin, well worth the extra few grams.
