Seeing as Merlin have got Pikes at a good price with extra discount this weekend. What is the difference between the different 426 models? what does push-loc actually do for you? Also they Merlin specify a weight difference with the pop loc model being 0.4 lbs lighter!

I personally wouldn't bother with the remote pop lock thing, it's just more clutter on the bars, it fails periodically and it's not exactly difficult to reach down and turn a fork-top adjuster. I guess it makes sense if you're someone who locks their forks out for climbs then forgets to unlock the fork until you're hammering down the other side. In simple terms, it means you can lock out the fork without taking your hands off the bars. Or you can use the Floodgate gubbins to make it sort of like a platform fork, in which case the remote will allow you to switch between that and fully open mode.
I can't imagine that the weight is really less btw.
the cheapest one will still be ace and make no dufference in real terms. both my poploc's stick (its the gubbins in the top of the fork that gets too stiff and overcomes the spring tension, no the lever itself) and the fork top one is easy enough to use unless you are really hammering it. the 0.4lbs might be a steel instead of aluminium steerer. Which is the same as an extra 250mls of drink in your camelbak ie not worth losing any sleep over.
