SRAM X0 crank, direct mount, 32t on non-boost Radon Slide 150 at the moment.

It doesn't say what offset though.

Are all rings as durable as each other?

Works components ..british made ..excellent & a lot cheaper than " brand  names " like Absolute Black.

Here is a link to there site ..with a bit of a search you should find what you are looking for..mine is working perfectly still after a year ..

+2 for Works.

I read the claims made by Absolute Black having their special ovality and patent pending timing, then decided it was rollocks and I would never notice if my oval was positioned 1% different 🙂

My first oval ring was a Works one.

Used it for a MM straight out of the box (packet)

I noticed a lot of metal was lost above and beyond the anodising on the teeth during its outing as if it was somehow over tolerance and the chain cut it back?!

After I removed the small metal bits and relubed it seems fine just a little disconcerting in the first instance.

Ive one of their round rings to try so will keep an eye on it.

Any other suggestions.

I think I might have a new Absolute Black one in the garage. It's red anodised. If you are interested I can check

I used Works on my last bike. Unfortunately they don't make a Race Face Cinch in boost so I went Absolute Black this time. If you buy from Tredz you can use their regular £5 off voucher to get the AB for a reasonable price.

^^ Peddling I can't say that I can really, my knees definitely can though. 😃

My knees have also benefited ..zero pain ..where there was before .

I don't really know how much more of a power transfer you get in reality ..I read the theory that a 32t oval gives the same as a 34t round on the downward stroke and 30t on the up stroke .

I thought that there was a slight improvement when I first changed ..maybe you just get used to that ?

^^^^^

This would totally depend on what your knee problems are.  given your knees are getting the same impact and motion wither oval or round which is getting dictated by the crank arm length.  Where in the knee do you get the pain?

The oval ring does subtly alter the amount of force you need to apply to drive the crank at different parts of a single rotation, so it's quite possible that it could be better for knees, though it depends what kind of pedaller you are - grinding away at 40rpm on a harder gear or spinning something easier.

I like mine, noticed the ovality for about 500 yards and it does feel smoother on steeper climbing.

The Clarks ring arrived today. It's only a couple of grammes more than the Absolute Black it replaces, but seems beefier in construction.

Whipped off the cranks to discover that the GXP BB is all notchy again... What is it about SRAM sealing being so sh*te?
