So im looking for a new front tyre (Currently smorgasbord) and have decided on a Maxxis Minion or any other grippy options?
Thinking the grippy 42a compound but are these the right/ best compound?

As i cant seem to find the folding bead, does the wire bead make any difference?
I have a Minion dhf folding Super Tacky for sale if interested?
Very good tyre in excellent condition!
£23 posted!
Was a £50 tyre
Oh and ST is best compound ime as I had a cheap set of singleply 60a compound ones on my DH bike bk in the day and they kept sliding out on me - might of been due to not running low enough pressures mind.

2.5 is the size of the 2.4HR2, folding bead one here with the EXO wall. This is a must for Single Ply.
Not to heavy neither.
What's your intended use?
On One's Chunky Monkey would ordinarily get my vote in the trail extreme flavour for £19.99 but as you can get a Minion Super Tacky for the same price I'd go Minion.
If you have plenty of cash a triple compound Minion is fantastic.
Singlesteed - I'll keep you in mind!
Rickon - Mainly trail centre stuff (Gisburn, Hamsterley, Stainburn) and some general XC stuff but not much. Id probably switch back to the On-One if a minion was to draggy. But i was really wanting good reliable grip so thought a Minion was a good choice.
Ok- Minion is a fine choice for grip just in Super Tacky only that is all
Yeah, 60A minion is pretty much a rear only imo. And even then a bit unpredictable, I never got on with it.
And yep 2.35 is a small tyre, the 2.5 is almost exactly 2.35 across ironically. But width isn't everything, the 2.35 is still pretty grippy.
The newer 2.3 (not 2.35) 3C minions is the best tyre I've used in a while.
The Chunky Monkey trail extreme is good as it is not as draggy as a super tacky and is wider than a 2.35 Minion. I went from 3C Minion in 2.5 width to a Chunky Monkey and it was a close match for a fraction of the price - grippy but not too draggy.
