So I bought a pair of Troy Lee Designs Skyline shorts today and need some liners to go underneath them (my previous shorts had a permanent liner sawn in). I'd like something very breathable and not too expensive, as I'd like to buy 2 or 3 pairs for longer mountain biking away trips (no, I don't wear underwear with padded shorts)!

Here are some I came across:

dhb Active Padded Undershort - £7.00
Endura Mesh Boxer - £17.99
Altura Tempo Undershorts - £18.99
Altura ProGel Liner Under Shorts - £19.99
dhb Pivot Padded Liner - £24.99

Any experience of the above or any further suggestions???

Cheers,
Pete

Hmm, I have a pair, but I'd prefer something more lightweight.

Craft cool bike boxer, I prefer the shorter length over standard cycling liner shorts.

My favourite are DHB, not sure what model they are though.

OnOne padded boxers are good for a tenner. I've three of them and two pairs of gore, one windstopper on the front (insert your own gag about windproof pants) which are also OK.

I have the Altura ProGels (came with the Apex baggies), they're pretty good and I've no complaints with them. They may not be as breathable as you'd like, tend to end up with a sweat-soaked a***-pad on warm days.

Pro gels or bibs. Endura are bad for me. Spesh liners are great too.

Your ass may vary. Only but one pair until you're sure!

I like the Endura mesh ones...not too tight.

Endura are very breathable. Helps reduce overheating. Not tried others.

Anyone tried the dhb Pivot Padded Liner?

They seem to be getting a lot of good feedback on the interweb.

I second the Decathlon £14.99 liner suggestion. They have the same pad as their more expensive bibs and shorts

3rd the Decathlon jobs, very, very good pad on them, cracking value at £15 as well.

My favourite ones are the women specific ones from Decathlon but they have stopped doing them, the next best are Scott ones that came from Start Cycles clearance sale, nothing else gets near.

started out life with endura mesh, got fed up washing them and no longer bother now. Go commando in a pair of cheap polyester pants no bother on a full suspension. using padded pants on a mountain bike is a bit overkill unless your on the saddle all day
