Evening folks.
I'm after advice on bike choice please.
I've never bought myself a decent bike so decided take the plunge and spend some decent money on one.I ride a 11 year old anthem but bought 2nd hand years ago for £250!
I have narrowed it down to giant trance 2 on a 2017 model or whyte t130 sr 2018 model.
Could some one give me there thoughts on these please. These are the two I'm interested havat ridden either but sat on the trance and liked the position.I prefer the look of the trance too. Any input would be greatly appreciated many thanks.

What kind of riding will you be doing and where? It sounds like you're already leaning towards the Giant to be honest. Can you arrange demos on both to get a feel for how they ride?

Test ride!

Two excellent bikes there. The Giant Maestro system is excellent, but that Whyte looks superb as well.

Spend time with the shop, test ride them, then decide.

Giant have a test fleet (possibly still including 2017 models) and I think Whyte do as well.

I would say that you should check the price of old stock Whytes. They seem to lose a lot of value.
Good if you're buying an old one, not so good a new one.

I've not ridden the giant (never really liked their bikes ( way back when they changed their suspension format every couple of years and more recently their bikes just look ugly), but a couple of mates have got T130's in various forms. The whyte is an incredibly capable bike and perform beyond what you would expect a 'trail' bike of its ilk to do. However, both friends who have them have had issues with the monarch shock and the pike forks
