- Nukeproof Mega. The geometry is nigh on perfect for gravity enduro, long wheel base, 13.5 inch bottom bracket height, and a slack 66 degree head angle. In a package that can be built down to 30lb with ease and 29 if you push it. Great value for money, with good componentry for the price compared to all but the mail order only companies.

- Nomad. Great bike, not quite as aggressive. Feels more playful than the other two. Pedals better than the other two. Offset shock bushings could make it more aggressive feeling. The carbon one is insanely stiff and light but costs a fortune.

- Specialized Enduro Evo. Great geometry, coil shock as standard. Supple 4 bar linkage, probably the most downhill orientated rear suspension out of the three. It doesn't pedal as well as the Nomad but the 4 bar is more sensitive than the VP setup on the Nomad and doesn't suffer as much brake jack as the single pivot Mega. You don't get as good quality of componeets as the Mega though.

I've got a Nukeproof Mega and my old mans got a Nomad.

Bloody love my Mega, best all round play bike I've owned. Glad I ditched my '08 SX Trail for it.

You need to ride them!

P.S Stay away from any bikes with big hydroformed tubes that use diameter fo stiffness as opposed to material if you are racing. They are like coke cans and dent easily due to flying rocks/uplift trucks.

Rides like a dream andy.
Few little mods like the rear shock tunned by loco which i highly recommend.10mm on the rear to stiffen it up even more.
Think i,l keep this one for a while.

Alpine 160 should be on the list I reckon... Also <bike I own> Hemlock is very good at the job, better than I am.

Do check out YT Industries though- complete, quality bikes for the price of a frame from the competition. Or amazingly specced bikes for the price of an entry-level Orange.

Mojo HD is worth a look, especially if you need to climb to get your downs first! Really versatile frame, can take up to a 180mm singlecrown fork if you want, or can be built as a 140mm trail rocket... Love mine 😀 .
