I currently use a Garmin 305 specifically for the bike but I'm finding it's starting to lose GPS more and more recently so need a replacement.

I'm also doing more running so looking for a GPS to do the best of both, what's out there?

The free one on your phone?

The phone isn't robust enough for falling off bikes and getting wet on soggy runs. Plus I'd need an add on for Heart Rate Monitoring.

Garmin 510. You can set up different bike profiles on it. Can use HR and cadence meter info if you have those. You can get a bundle with the main unit, HR monitor & strap and cadence pod.

I can't fault my Garmin 510 for stats (distance, elevation, HR etc), and navigating from a tcx/gpx file works well for the most part. Sometimes I wonder whether I should have gone for the more expensive 800/810 to have the benefit of maps but it's significantly more money when you factor in the cost of maps.
