Looking to buy some new wheels and need to decide on which freehubto go with them.
I have always had standard shimano freehub. What are the pros and cons on going to SRAM XD??

Eh you’ll need to run an Xd drivetrain!
Cost would have ruled sram out for me but now the NX Eagle groupset is sensible that’s not really an issue.
For me it would be wider range offered by SRAM vs (IMO) shimano being the easier to setup and more reliable (recent gx eagle mech fail biasing my views)
It's more of a cassette choice thing,do you want to run SRAM XD driver ones(GX level and above) or not. I like em so it was XD drivers for me.
Mark , is your shimano stuff worn out ? I seem to remember you had sram on one bike ?
SRAM is definitely superior, better freehub, lighter, not prone to damage, cassettes are better... But saying that my main consideration would be whether you'll be able to get a microspline freehub down the line. That for me is a big question.
