Hey all, I have an orange stage 6 that currently has my pikes on it. I'm looking at replacing these with either fox factory 36 or lyriks. Thing is, I have heard that the Fox 36 top end grip 2 fit 4 are so adjustable, that maybe the average rider ( me) may struggle to set up properly?? I generally set sag, and have a play with rebound then pretty much leave it. Recommendations??

Oh, would also consider cane Creek helm, or indeed any other suggestions

I got some fit4 36’s in the crc sale to replace the Pikes on my Segment. Superb forks, miles better than the Pikes and not difficult to set up as I just use the Fox recommended settings.

Can’t stand Fox. Love my Ohlins RXF 34s better for heavier rider. Also my Yari with Smashpot is great fork

Lyriks are brilliant and pretty straight forward to setup. If you go RC2 rather than rct3 then you have both high and low speed compression to think about though.

Grip 2 has another adjustment again I think - maybe low and high speed compression and the same low and high speed for rebound? Could be wrong though - I’ve never bought a fox fork.

The Lyrik seems to be just edging out tyre Fox 36 based on being a little plusher and more sensitive on small bumps. The fox maybe better though if you like the fork to ride higher in its travel.

I think it’s hard to go wrong with either of the above tbh so not sure I’d look too much further. If budget is an issue then in the most recent enduro fork review the X Fusion that has big stanchions (forget the name) didn’t do too bad with the rough cut damper in. I think they lost out on spring sensitivity / adjustment.

I've had both a Lyrik and a 36, albeit not the grip 2 version as that's newer. I'm currently running a Charger 2 2018 Lyrik. Really not getting on with it, I find it lacks small bump sensitivity and in general does not feel as plush as the 36 or indeed any BOS fork I've tried.

I'm currently tinkering with the Lyrik to improve it, but there's a side of me that says it's the Charger 2 damper that's the problem and I should just cut my losses and buy a 36. That's certainly what I'd do if I had my time again.

According to the review on here the New DT F535's are pretty easy to set up with the app that gives you you all the rebound and compression settings.

There was a chap racing at the Southern Enduro the other week on a Stage 6 with them on the front, he wasn't hanging about.

Worth a demo at least.

My Manitou Mattock pro have loads of adjustments. They have a set up guide for different types of riding, so I just follow that and experiment changing one thing at a time.

£719 for a 36 with the grip 2 damper sounds a good price - I’d consider buying that I think.
