Ok so I need some new spd shoes as my current mtb shoes have had it

So been looking at enduro type shoes but can't make up my mind which ones.

So looking at the following

Pearl Izumi x-alp enduro I've
Bontrager rhythm
Giro terradurno

With the Giro's having an issue early on.

Just can't decide they are all more or less the same price and would use them for commute, xc, and a little walking etc.

Anyone tried any of them and would recommend a pair?

Ii bought the alpine xl from mavic, great enduro shoe, good to walk in, but still really stiff to pedal in

Just these type of shoes are more suited to a vary of tasks than the Spesh expert comp, which sound like football boots when you walk and can be dangerous on slipper surfaces hence why I am looking at these type of shoes.

Try the Specialized Rime as well. I got mine for around £70 and they're super stiff but with a good sole and comfy enough for walking

Specialized Rime should also be on your list if you're looking at the Terraduro. I've got a pair and they're really good, although I don't "Enduro™". The new 2F0 range look good too.

It's between the Rimes and Terraduros. The Shimano's (M163/200) are easily the best quality but they have a far to XC tread on them. I'll be going Terraduro next season as the foremost Velcro strap on my Rimes just snapped in half.

Why are you now going for another pair of Rimes? Something different?

Bought some M200's after wearing out the old XC50's & have a pair of Mavic Aline Xl's too, so far the M200 out performs them all, more grip on the sole, higher ankle & good protection over all, also small vents to help keep water at bay, I dare say with seal skins I might be able to get through winters worst, Just enough flex too, makes me laugh though all this enduro nonsense, great shoes try before you buy.

I just thing the straps on the Rimes are a bit thin but I seem to have been unlucky with the break.

If you want something you can walk in, have a look at Five Ten Maltese Falcons. They are more of a flat shoe, but with SPD compatibility. I'd say ideal for commuting, walking and XC. They pedal surprisingly well and they're actually quite nice to walk in.

Mavic Alpine XL shoes were the best shoes I've ever used in all areas, apart from the colour. Which idiot decided to make MTB shoes in white 🙄 !!!

The Mavic Crossmax 'Enduro' shoes looked better but yellow 😯 ... **** that, I'd rather have white.

.... but wait a minute, they now do the Crossmax Enduro's in black you say !!! Bought (in the half sizes no one else can be arsed to do), worn and bloody brilliant.

BLACK Mavic Crossmax Enduro shoes are now the best shoes I've ever used.
