Hi all, doing the UK24 solo in a couple of weeks and lost my pair of cheapo headphones for my mp3 player to help me get through the night. Any recommendations of what stays on during biking, sweat resistant etc? Think I'd probably be best with clip on style ones? Not looking to break the bank.

cheers

Matt

Thre are some surprisingly good ones from Sony in Sainsbury's. I think they were £18.

Little clips that go behind ear.

Only downer is no microphone.

I picked up a Tunebug Shake to stick to the back of my helmet for riding on the road. Works pretty well (loud, half decent bass) and you can still hear traffic noise/whats behind you.

I use one of these one good earbud wrap around units. Bought it direct from US, delivered in 5 days for under £20. Works really well because it means I still have one ear open to listen for traffic.

Sound quality for music is good enough for out on the bike and it fits nicely. Can't recommend it highly enough to be honest and certainly won't go back to two earbuds for cycling.

Just got some of these

Cheap as chips, and they sound pretty good. The arm bits bend and hold their shape around your lugs, so they sit nice and snug.

I've had no problems with the Sony ones which plug into the ears. The different size rubber outers mean you can find a good fit for your oral orifice. I use them for longer rides with no problems and they stay put even when I am covered in sweat.

Seinheiser do some sport ones like these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-PMX70-Sportline-Neckband-Headphones/dp/B000FJD5IA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1303551807&sr=1-1

Just wondering whether they would intefere with the helmet size adjuster? Or am I better with ones like these:

Yeh tunebug looks a good idea but not sure how well it would would on an xc lid, also might be a bit vulnerable in crashes etc?

It seems like a pretty solid unit, got it mounted with velcro straps on the Giro pisspot I use for XC riding, reckon it would work ok on a more lightweight XC lid
