You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I seem to have developed a knack of tearing the arse out of my aluminium freehubs with cassettes. to the point where if I need to remove a cassette - I have to destroy the thing by prizing it off with flat head screw drivers, piece by piece.
I'm investing in new freehubs and keen to avoid it happening. Is there a certain type of cassette less prone to this sort of behaviour? They're on tightly - Everything seems in order...til I go to remove them.
Help!
2 bikes....9 and 10 speed. If that makes a difference to the answer...
Use cassettes with an aluminium carrier.
Hope? If so steel freehub plus ali carrier
so which cassettes have an alu carrier?
XT or above, not sure of the Sram Equivalent - maybe X9 or X0 and above
On One sometimes have PG990s for £40 they work great with cheesy hubs
