Nukeproof Horizon carbon bars are comfy, and a nice shape.

35mm or 31.8?

Highly recommend the One Up bars, mine were noticeably less harsh than the 31.8 alloy bars on a demo bike I tried.

There's been a few good topics on this in the past months, I went down the same route.

The SC bars are known to be one of the very stiff options so I'd rule those out.

Based on feedback from others and mates bikes etc, I went for the Nukeproof Horizons as above - they definitely added a small but noticeable amount of comfort.

I seem to remember the One-up bars suppsoedly one of the 'softer' options too.

Heard good things about on up not tried though

Do ride new diety stuff! I have tendon issues in both arms and arthritis in both thumbs and they are very comfy have to say seem to dampen well and are a good angle set up wise for comfort also highly recommend the grips to

Heard that Oneup is good for this.

I’ve recently bunged on some Brand X carbon bars and if you push really hard you can feel them flex slightly on the ends. So far they’ve been perfectly comfortable and I think they are a bit easier on the wrists - but they’re 31.8 and they replaced some 35mm clamp alloy bars so I guess they would have a little more flex.

Definitely felt the benefit of switching to the One Up bars. But I've only got the Renthal Fat Bar Lite to compare against. I can't be 100% certain if improvement in comfort is due to shape/riding position (One Up is wider and has more rise) or better vibration damping, but think it's probably the latter.

Knackered wrists and really happy with the Oneups, they do make a difference. I think they look great with the flattened section too

I recently replaced a pair of carbon On One Knucklebars on my FS with Brand X. I've had various On One carbon bars for years (and still on my HT) and like their level of stiffness and damping. I did buy a pair of Renthal Fat Bars when they first came out, but couldn't get on with them - didn't damping the 'vibes'.

Nothing wrong with the On One's except I wanted higher and wider and the Brand X's do just that - and £70. Result.

Good for nettles, are they?

too stiff carbon bars that I've tried: Hope, Renthal, Ibis

nicer damping: Syncros, Nukeproof

really nice: Syntace Vector

super soft: Easton EC70 (but no longer around)

If you want to go full bendy, track down a set of the Crank Bros Cobalt 11 780mms, they're just madly wide XC bars and if you bounce your weight on the front you can see the tips bend. Trail buzz isn't a thing with these, and they take a lot of the sting of impacts out too (I have 'em on a rigid fatbike, had them on a 100mm xc bike, both of which got ridden a bit byond their remit)

Of course, there's downsides to rubber bars, the wheel's not necessarily going where you want it.

Remember stiffness isn't all that matters when it comes to trail buzz, hand tiredness etc. Renthal are stiff but still have a decent amount of... whatever it is that removes buzz. my Enves weren't noticably any stiffer but they were a lot... brasher? Uncomfier?

RSP Ego is a sensible middle ground bar at a low price, always worth a try.

I’m thinking about the Renthal Fat Bar, if money was no object I’d get Thomson Titanium bars though.

OnUp Bars for me, hands down the most comfortable bars I’ve used yet!

Can confirm One Ups far more comfortable than Renthal and Joystick carbon bars.
