OK so I can have a camera for Xmas but which one is best. Here's what I know.
My current digital camera is a KodaK (borrowed from work) takes my pic but image is blured almost ghost like yet I am sure its on Sports Mode also want to be able to take multiple shots without waiting for processing time and finally reliable and small enough to carry in my pocket.
Mine has just Died, so after some careful browsing, I've gone for a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 .
Ticks all the boxes for me.
Any blurred on the move images or time between continuall shots?
Only ordered it today.Reviews sold it for me.
OK will take a look
I just replaced my TZ7 (older version of the TZ10). It's a brilliant camera but for a compact it's big. For touristing, family shots, landascapes etc I loved it but for riding I just found it bulky, and it feels delicate too. Not brilliant in low light which is a bit of a bummer- acceptable pics but poor video.
Great bit of kit but I'm far happier with my Ixus 130, which takes worse pictures, has a smaller zoom, narrower field of vision, but fits in my pocket and is a wee bulletproof nugget of a camera, like all Ixuses before it.
Sony TX5 might be worth a look and can be had for about 200-230 quid
It is small and will take a beating (relatively speaking), has a decent processor (as it can perform in-camera panorama stitching)
-Water, dust, freeze and shock proof - depths down to 3m
-CMOS Sensor
-720p video
-10fps shooting

I have a Panasonic Lumix FS30, cost me £180 14mp, full HD video, small-ish, lightweight, the battery lasts for ages between charges too.... I've seen them recently for about £130. Try Tesco, PC World...... Fantastic wee camera for not a huge wedge!
Thinking that the Lumix is a good compromise a few have mentioned them. The Sony whilst looks the dogs is a bit more than willing to spend to just find bits of it in my pocket after one of my spills.
Thanks for you opinions
is the mega pixel race still going?
I have a.TZ10, brilliant camera, only draw back i've found is that it only has a maximum of 10 seconds self timer which is too short for self portrait biking pics. OTherwise very happy with it
I've had a TZ10 for just over a week now, really impressed with it, took it biking yesterday, it sat quite happily in my chest pocket and I didn't even notice that it was there after a couple of minutes.
fujifilm Z33WP. Its small, pink and waterproof. Brilliant little camera, always in my pocket when I'm not grasping the DSLR. Can't fault it.
If your budget stretches a little further there are always the Panasonic lx3, LX5 and the samsung ex-1. These compacts have pretty exceptional optics, and thats what make the difference, my old 6.3mp fuji f50 takes ace pictures and that's down to the lens above anything else.
Hi all, semi hijack, looking at the TZ7 and similar cameras, and it looks like none of these cameras have any manula adjust (shutter speed, aperture etc etc). Is that OK, or does it really annoy anyone?
tz10 has aperture and shutter speed adjustment
Aye, but it also has a high price 🙁
Be higher after the weekend too
